Bishop John said, “We are all called to serve in different ways and on Saturday it will be my honour to ordain 11 new deacons called to serve in parishes across our diocese. This is a time of great transition for the ordinands, their families and the parishes they will be placed. All have been well prepared, formed in prayer, learning and service. Each will bring their own gifts as they enter this new phase of their ministry. Saturday is a day of great celebration and we will rejoice with these new Christian leaders. Then they will be charged to go out and share the good news in word and deed in the places God’s prepared for them. I wish them, their family and friends, and their receiving parishes the blessing of the Holy Spirit at this time.”
