Do Ten Things

You can help more people understand what it is to be a disciple of Christ in an easy way. Just Do Ten Things a year to make a difference by serving people and showing God's love

If we are to see a bigger church making a bigger difference with more people knowing Jesus and more justice in the world then we all need to be involved.

Bring One Friend will help us build a bigger church. Through personal invitation and by having great relationships with others we can encourage them to join in one of our events or to join a worshipping community. www.liverpool.anglican.org/BringOneFriend

Do Ten Things is our encouragement for every member of every worshipping community in our diocese to show the difference being a Christian makes. They are part of our outward journey on the Bishop’s Rule of Life www.liverpool.anglican.org/RuleOfLife -  where we are called to serve.

You don’t have to be following the Bishop’s Rule of Life to do ten things (but we hope you do).  And we haven’t a fixed list you have to follow. Your ten things are up to you. If you choose them then you are more likely to succeed in doing them.

You don’t have to do all ten in one go. Your ten things don’t have to be new. Your ten things are a way of you showing others how your faith makes a bigger difference

Be inspired

How to Do Ten Things

It's pretty much up to you how you do it but we suggest the following may help.

1: Do it with others  Church is community. We learn together and support each other as disciples. Doing this together can help keep us accountable and show support for one another. So why not do this with your church community, home group, congregation, youth group, group of friends,

2: Do a mix of things  It is good to include things you already do as well as some new ideas. We suggest you try to do some simple things as well as a couple of areas that may be more challenging. We have some ideas and suggestions of things you can do on this page.

And we'd love to get your suggestions Post them on social media using the hashtag #DoTenThings or email communications@liverpool.anglican.org

3. Set yourself a time limit. We suggest you aim to do your ten things over a period of a year.

4. Review, celebrate and encourage.

Do Ten Things

Bishop Paul said: Do ten things. There will be no penalty if you do eleven! But since holiness in the Church is always service, as disciples in the Diocese of Liverpool our commitment to draw close to the Lord Jesus must issue in action; so do ten things, as you are sent to serve.

Our Diocesan Prayer

Loving Father,
by your grace, we long to see
more people knowing Jesus,
and more justice in your world.
Help us to live as your disciples in the power of the Spirit
and to work to your praise and glory.

Amen.
