Church members were invited to complete a 27 mile circular route of the deanery stopping at all 17 churches to pray and ask God to bless the work that was going on there. A map and directions of the route were provided and parishioners could either; cycle, walk or drive around the deanery.
Each church offered a very warm welcome along with prayer stations, a quiet place for prayer and thanksgiving along with some well-earned refreshments. The churches were open all weekend from Friday 11th May – Sunday 13th May.
Sam Stanford participated in the prayer trail. She said “I cycled on the Saturday along with Mark Stanford, Vicar of Holy Trinity Formby and St Michaels Altcar, the weather was beautiful and we saw loads of wildlife in God's beautiful creation. It was great to visit all of the churches in our deanery and to meet new people. I enjoyed a cheese sandwich and a very long hot bath when I got home after completing the 27 miles in four and a half hours on a new bike!”
