Parish Giving Scheme one-off giving update

First published on: 15th December 2022

All churches registered with the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS) can now make use of the one-off giving service as well as continuing to offer the regular giving option.

Both of these ways to give allows the giver to be in complete control of what they give and each church knows that this means less work for the volunteers as any applicable Gift Aid is claimed for the church by the PGS team.

Cath Gaskell said  "We are pleased to let you know the one-off giving update to the church’s PGS page has been updated automatically so it is all straightforward. All you need to do is let your new and existing givers know they can now choose one-off gifts or regular giving with PGS.

We now have 90% of the churches in Liverpool Diocese registered with PGS church and we are pleased to confirm that they can all continue to share their existing QR code that takes givers directly to the church’s PGS page. They could share this in their newsletter, service sheet etc."

Alternatively, givers can go directly to https://www.parishgiving.org.uk/home/ to find their church and choose one of the two ways to give.

The PGS communication team and national church have prepared a range of resources and a poster you can add your QR code to. More materials to follow in 2023.

Cath added "No need to worry about gifts and gift aid claims during times such as becoming a larger PCC, change of Gift Aid Secretary, etc if your givers, especially tax-efficient givers give via the Parish Giving Scheme their gifts and applicable gift aid continues to be received uninterrupted during this change"

So don’t delay now is the time to promote the Parish Giving Scheme as the best way to give for both regular and one-off givers.
