Caroline said, “I feel very humbled and privileged; it’s an honour to be asked to do this. It’s exciting and scary all in one go.

I’m looking forward to getting started in January. We have been doing some new things in the Mother’s Union. The MULOA project – ‘Mothers’ Union Listening, Observing, Acting’ has been the focus for the last 12 months. I really believe in the MULOA, I think we all need to listen, we all need to observe and we all need to act when we need to act and try to see how we can fit into that bigger picture. Next year’s theme builds on this further and is: ‘Listen, observe, act – in step with God’.

For me it’s all about looking toward the future on how we can be more active within the community. I want to work closely with the Diocese and with individual churches to be more effective generally. There is a realisation within the Mothers Union that we need to work in partnership with other organisations. Collaboration is really important. We want to dispel the idea that Mother’s Union is just about making tea and cake, we are actually a lot more engaged and interactive within our communities.”
