Environment Summit

“This event is being held to bring together people interested in bringing focus to the Anglican Communion’s 5th mark of mission which is ‘to strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth’. Through it we will celebrate the great projects and activities already going on in and around the Diocese of Liverpool.

Ideas will be shared and we will explore ways in which these important issues can be taken forward, including giving thought to updating the diocesan environmental policy, planning further events and setting up a practice group focussed on giving momentum to this important aspect of the Anglican mission.

The day will begin with a chance to chat over refreshments. Speakers will be invited to share their work and experiences to encourage and stimulate discussion of which we hope there will be plenty.
There will be a time for worship and reflection and also to enjoy the gardens at Bishop’s Lodge, the location for this Environmental Summit. Discussions will be aimed taking the 5th mark of mission forward in the diocese and growing a movement for real environmental change.

The event is aimed at all those who would like to take an active role in tackling the environmental issues we face, both locally and globally, within and around the diocese. We hope it will provide an opportunity for people to inspire and encourage each other in to action.”
