Walton churches formally welcomes its new vicar

Walton Breck Christ Church and Walton Holy Trinity welcomed the Rev Kelvin Bolton as its new Priest in Charge with a special service on June 17th at 7.30pm. The service, was led by the Bishop of Warrington, Bishop David, and the Archdeacon of Liverpool, Rick Panter offers a chance for the congregation and community to welcome Kelvin to the parish.

This appointment marks a welcome return for Kelvin who was at the parish from 1998 to 2002 before becoming the vicar at St Paul, Goose Green in Wigan.

Kelvin began his ministry serving as a Church Army Captain and had previously worked in the diocese of Bristol and at then later at Huyton in the diocese of Liverpool. Kelvin and his wife Margaret originally came from Wigan and had been for many years licensees of a public house and restaurant. Kelvin said, 'This early career was an excellent basis for both our later ministeries.
                                                                                                            
Bishop David said “I am delighted, on behalf of the Diocese and Walton Breck Christ Church and Walton Holy Trinity to formally welcome Kelvin to the parish. I am sure that he will make an excellent vicar for this parish and my prayer is that God will truly bless him as he works to show Jesus’ love for the local community.”

Archdeacon Ricky Panter said “we are thrilled that Kelvin has been licensed to Walton Breck Christ Church and Walton Holy Trinity and wish him every success with her/his ministry. Walton Breck Christ Church and Walton Holy Trinity is a great church with much to offer and I am sure that “new vicar” will be bringing fresh vigour to the local ministry”

Rev Kelvin Bolton said “ I am thrilled to be returning to Walton Breck Christ Church and Walton Holy Trinity and would like to thank the congregation and the local community for their kind words of welcome. I look forward to what I am sure will be a long a fruitful ministry here at Walton Breck.
