The Safeguarding Advisor, along with the PCC and clergy, is responsible for ensuring that the church is up-to-date with the latest Safeguarding procedures.
The Diocese of Liverpool takes its duty and obligation to protect all very seriously.
The Safeguarding Advisor is the main contact for a parish, but safeguarding procedures should be followed by all.
All volunteers and paid staff must be recruited using the safer recruitment process, which involves disclosure and barring checks.
Safeguarding Advisors are expected to check the Safeguarding page and news and events page on a regular basis for policies, national updates and training opportunities.
It is also mandatory for all clergy and those who hold the Bishop’s Licence to attend Safeguarding Training every three years.
We hope this section makes it easier for you to be a Safeguarding Advisor. If you can't find exactly what you are looking for, please try the 'Making it easier for...' menu for more roles.
