Eco Diocese Update September 2020

First published on: 10th September 2020

Churches in North Sefton deanery have pioneered a new approach to make Eco Church easier. Led by area dean Rev Anne Taylor and with Faiths4Change, representatives came together for a one hour Eco Zoom to share experiences and challenges. As a result, the deanery is exploring a joint buildings survey and planning an open-air Climate Sunday service. They will be coming back together in two months to update on individual progress and share more support, resources and ideas.

Over in Wigan, Chapelfields ‘Worship Together’ in the East Hub have begun a series of worship celebrating creationtide. Liz from Faiths4Change spoke at the first of these services on Sunday 6th September which can be viewed on their Facebook Page.

If you’re interested in Eco Church support, would like to arrange a speaker or are interested in a deanery wide approach in your areas then get in touch. We’d love to hear from you. Please do not be concerned if your church has only just begun thinking about Eco issues; we can help, whatever stage you’re at.
