Sign up to the CofE Portal to access our new online database

We are encouraging parish officers to sign up to the CofE Portal to gain access to our new online database and other useful national resources that make it easier for you.

We’ve been investing in new technology to make it easier to keep our online database up to date and for parishes and clergy to search for key contacts. This database – called the contact management system – has been jointly developed by dioceses across the church of England. Over half are signed up to the system with more joining as we see this as an ideal solution to our local needs. This has also meant we are pooling knowledge and resources to make a better system for all.

Fully compliant with data protection legislation the new system gives much more flexibility and adaptability.

Our staff at St James House have been fully trained on how to use the system which we will be launching publically soon. This means that we are ending our old parish info system and once we have finished testing the new system we will launch it publically.

Director of Communications, Stuart Haynes said “this is a massive step for our communications. The new database is flexible and easy to use and will really benefit everyone in our parishes improve the way we can contact one another. More than that through having access to a range of nationally developed online resources such as the excellent church support hub and church print hub you have everything you might need in one place. This is the future for church communications and it is essential all get involved. I believe it is vital for everyone with an interest in church life to sign up".
