Parish Safeguarding Training

This training will include Safeguarding presentations from Su Foster, Diocese Child Safeguarding Adviser and Ruth Reed, Diocese Vulnerable Adults Safeguarding and Catriona Richardson, Volunteer Trainer Adviser. Training sessions will be offered in various venues across the Diocese.

There are a maximum 50 places available for each session and we would strongly recommend that you book early.

Safeguarding children and vulnerable adult training sessions.
These training sessions are for those in your parish who work with children, young people and adults, everyone with a governance responsibility and everyone who holds a position of trust.  They will include a presentation from the Safeguarding Team, there will also be an opportunity to ask questions.  Tea and coffee will be provided.

Evening sessions: coffee and tea will be served at the beginning of the session at 7.00pm and the training will start promptly at 7.30pm.

Afternoon sessions: coffee and tea will be served at the beginning of the session from 1.00pm and the training will start promptly at 1.30pm.

Safer recruitment training. 
This training session will be an opportunity for your parish to work through and understand the procedures that must be set in place when recruiting people who want to work with Children and Vulnerable Adults either in a paid or voluntary capacity. 
There will be a presentation relating to the Safer Recruitment Procedures, guidelines for how to use the online CCPAS system for DBS applications and there will be a Question and Answer session to allow you to draw on the expertise of Su and Ruth and raise any issues your parish may have.

Safeguarding Surgeries
A chance to come along and meet with Su Foster, Child Safeguarding Adviser and Ruth Reed, Vulnerable Adults Adviser and ask questions regarding any Safeguarding/DBS issue you may have, obtain resources and  get help with the Archdeacons Parish Review Safeguarding Audit form.
