As a diocese we are committed to being a bigger church, so we may make a bigger difference. One way of making this happen is establishing networks and partnerships with mission societies such as USPG, CMS or development agencies like Christian Aid or Tearfund. Many parishes have also developed vibrant links with overseas partners, often sponsoring projects or workers.
Our companion links and our engagement as a diocese with mission societies are overseen by Revd Canon Malcolm Rogers
MBE, The Bishop of Liverpool’s Canon for Reconciliation.
We are very blessed by our companion diocesan relationship with the Diocese of Virginia, USA. In 2016, The Rt Revd Susan Goff, Suffragan Bishop of Virginia was licensed and commissioned as an assisting bishop in the Diocese of Liverpool
Malcolm is a leading on the development of an international advocacy project called ‘The Triangle of Hope’. This is expected to be launched mid-2017 and will bring together the Dioceses of Virginia (USA), Liverpool and Kumasi (Ghana).
Reflecting on the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, The Triangle of Hope will be a “mutual community of repentance and reconciliation transforming our common and individual missions.” You’ll be able to hear more about this initiative soon.
