Family Support Worker - Spinney Avenue CE Primary School

We are looking for someone who will support children and their families across the school and be a part of our SEND & Pastoral Team.

We are a one form entry Church of England primary school located on the outskirts of Widnes. Our NOR is 202 and we have 15% of disadvantaged pupils and 16% SEND.

The school has an interim executive board in place and is on a journey of rapid improvement under the leadership of an Executive Head teacher from The Three Saints Academy Trust and St Helens Teaching School. The IEB has resolved to seek sponsored status and is liaising with both the Diocese and RSC office, it is anticipated the school will join a Church of England led MAT in 2017.
The IEB are seeking to appoint an outstanding person who is highly motivated, with a commitment to our Christian ethos and values.

The post requires someone who is experienced in working with families through a multi-agency approach. They should have an up-to-date, working understanding of child protection and safeguarding.

The successful candidate will be someone who is able to work independently, under the general direction of the SLT, but is able to manage their own time and use their initiative on a day to day basis. They will have excellent time management, oral and written communication skills, and be able to use IT very effectively.

The successful candidate will support children and their families across the school and be a part of our SEND & Pastoral Team. They will represent the school at multi agency meetings and take the role of Deputy Designated safeguarding person. Applications must detail experience of this kind of work and recent and relevant training.
